On America’s Got Talent, Michael Winslow of Police Academy dazzles the judges with his voicetramentalist talent.

In the 1980s, Michael Winslow became a household name in America after playing Larvell Jones, a police officer who made sound effects, in the “Police Academy” films.

The talented voice actor appeared in “Gremlins” and “Spaceballs” before retiring to raise his children after his wife died. Now that his children are grown, he is attempting to re-enter the industry through “America’s Got Talent.”

“I used to be the man of 10,000 sound effects, but we’re up to hundreds of thousands now,” Winslow says before taking the stage with host Terry Crews. “I always did this, and this is just a part of me,” Winslow responds. “I’ve always made noises since I was a kid.”

As soon as Winslow walks onto the stage, judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara recognize him, and he begins his performance after a quick round of introductions.

He begins by explaining how his sound effects developed as he grew up as an “Air Force brat,” moving every 2-3 years. “That meant I had to make up my own friends, movies, soundtracks, and soundscapes,” he explains.

He performs an entire routine of sound effects such as airplane noises, radio static, and popular songs, earning him a standing ovation from both the judges and the audience.
